Set sail for adventure at Pineview! Learn what it takes to be a true sailor as you explore the lake and build your outdoor skills. Adventurers will enjoy:

• Sailing and basic navigation
• Orienteering and building a compass
• A team building scavenger hunt using your newfound sailing and orienteering skills. 

Meet Your Guides

Erica Yaeger TRS, CTRS (Director of Operations)

Erica is a licensed Recreation Therapist with over a decade of experience working with youth in crisis. She has combined her clinical expertise with her love for the outdoors, teaching skiing, snowboarding, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, and more.

For the past five years, Erica has led countless backcountry trips with teens, helping them build confidence, resilience, and connection in remote wilderness settings. She joined Summit Journeys in early 2025 with a vision: to reach youth before they reach a point of crisis—empowering them to discover who they are and what they’re capable of through outdoor adventure.

In addition to her credentials as a therapist, Erica is a certified Wilderness First Responder and Swiftwater Rescue Technician.

Mia Peterson (Aquatics Director)

Mia grew up sailing on the Great Lakes and developed an early passion for life on the water. She went on to compete in collegiate sailing at Marquette University and has spent the past six years as a sailing instructor, sharing her love of the sport with youth of all ages.

With over eight years of experience in outdoor education—including leading trips, working in camps, and teaching forest school—Mia has worked with kids ages 6 to 18 across a range of settings. She is an Advanced EMT, a Red Cross-certified lifeguard, and holds Swiftwater Rescue certification.

Whether it’s sailing, kayaking, or rafting, she brings a calm, capable presence and a deep commitment to helping youth grow through challenge and adventure.

• Functional Swimwear
• Towel
• Sunscreen
• Hat/Sunglasses
• Water Bottle (We will have water to refill bottles)
• Food: Lunch, Snacks, electrolytes etc

Summit Journeys will provide life jackets and all aquatic gear such as sailboats, kayaks and paddleboards.
